Salmon Creek Little League

2013 Washington State Little League Baseball Tournament at Luke Jensen Sports Park July 13-21
Congratulations Eastlake Little League for winning the Washington State Little League CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Sunday July 21: Clearly Eastlake and Federal Way were the top two teams in the state. The luck of the draw had these two teams face each other the very first game where Federal Way rode a late HR to a 6-5 victory which put Eastlake in the losers bracket. Federal Way went on to win all games and await the survivor of the losers bracket. Eastlake kept their poise (and pitching) and emerged from the losers bracket winning each game with their pitching staff in tact (each game keeping their pitchers under 21 pitches which kept them available for the next day's game). This meant Eastlake showed up on Championship Sunday needing to beat Federal Way twice...but both teams had all of their pitchers available. The first game was a see-saw battle with Federal Way securing a solid 6-3 lead behind a third inning grand slam. However, Eastlake came storming back with a grand slam of their own and emerged victorious, 13-7. This forced the "IF" game for the WA State Championship where Eastlake triumphed 12-2 with more offensive fireworks as their pitching silenced Federal Way's potent bats.

The newly crowned WA State Champions will now head to the LL Regional tournament in San Bernardino beginning August 2 to see who will represent the great NW at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, VA!!

Good Luck Eastlake LL!!!

2013 Washington State Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Tournament at Luke Jensen Sports Park July 6-11
Congratulations to PacWest LL for winning the Washington State Little League Intermediate CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Thursday, July 11: Evergreen LL (Vancouver) won the first game of the night versus PacWest LL (SeaTac) 6-4 and forced the "IF" game. In the "IF" game, PacWest took an early 7-1 lead until Evergreen came roaring back with 10 runs in the third inning. PacWest responded though and put up 4 runs and 3 runs in subsequent innings to regain the lead 14-11. As the 10:00pm curfew closed in at Luke Jensen Sports Park, at 9:59pm PacWest got Evergreen to ground out to 3rd base and PacWest made the third and final out...and within seconds, all the lights all went off! Just in the nick of time. PacWest celebrated a 14-11 win on the dark field and both teams celebrated a successful Little League Intermediate tournament at the medal ceremony. Well played tournament, congratulations to all participating teams and good luck to PacWest at Regionals!!!
