Salmon Creek Little League

Minor A Baseball Division Info - League Age 7

A Division (Age 7)

Division: League age 7-year-olds play in our "Single-A" division. Under rare circumstances, 7-year-olds can play T-Ball, if approved to do so by the safety committee. 7-year-olds may also play in our AA division, pending approval by the safety committee. Please see the age chart on our home page as the league age is often different than your player's actual age during the season. Email our Single-A Player Agent if you have concerns about the division your child is playing in.

Safety-Evaluations: All players wanting to play in our Single-A division are required to be reviewed by our safety committee. This evaluation is referred to as a Safety Evaluation and typically takes place in early February. You can find details, including the time, date and location, of our safety evaluations in late January on our website. All players will be placed on a team.

Buddy Requests: Please note any special friend or coach requests in the Buddy Request section of the online registration form. In our Single-A division, we do our best to grant buddy requests, but cannot make any guarantees.

Teams: Your child will be placed on a team by mid-February. Please email our Single-A player agent if you have not heard from a coach by late February.

Practices: Practices typically begin in late February and are generally held two to three times a week, once or twice during the week and once on Saturday. Players and parents should expect to practice once during the week after games begin.

Games: Games generally begin after Opening Ceremony in early March. Games are played twice a week, usually once on a weekday and once on Saturday. Games generally last about 1½ - 2 hours. Games are played on turf and dirt fields.

Uniform: The League provides a jersey and hat. Your coach will let you know their preference for game-day pants, socks and belt.

Equipment: Players in our Single-A division will need a baseball glove/mitt. They will also need to wear cleats as well as an athletic supporter and cup. Personal helmets are encouraged. Shorts are not allowed.

Opening Day: SCLL will celebrate our opening day in March. See the Salmon Creek web page for times and details. Players should show up in uniform and be ready to play. Team and individual pictures are usually taken on opening day. All players, even those not purchasing photos, are asked to participate in the team photo.

Volunteers: Our league is only as good as our volunteers and we always need more! Please consider coaching, being a team parent, or helping in any way you can. Please contact one of the people listed below if you are interested.
