Junior & Senior Divisions - League Age 13 and Up

Welcome to Salmon Creek Little League! We hope you and your child have an enjoyable season. To help you get started, we have compiled the following information.

Division: 13- & 14-year-olds play in our Junior division. 15- & 16-year-olds play in our Senior division. Little League no longer supports a "Big League" division.

Try-outs: Juniors and Seniors generally do not have typical "tryouts" like the lower divisions. If there are enough players for multiple teams in a division the players generally practice together for the first couple of weeks so the coaches can evaluate them and then draft into teams before games start. All players will be placed on a team.

Teams: Your child will be placed on a team and should hear from his Coach by Spring Break. Juniors/Seniors starts a bit later than the other divisions since a lot of players are trying out for their high school teams.

Practices: Practices are TBD. Before the season starts, practices are generally held multiple times a week -the coach will set the schedule. It is up to your coach to decide how many practices teams will hold once the games begin. You should expect your child to practice at least once or twice a week during season play.

Games: Games are played twice a week - usually once on a weekday and once on Saturday. Games generally last over 2 hours. Players should be at the field one half hour before the game starts.

Uniform:The League provides the uniform, with the exception of socks and optional under-shirts. Your coach will let you know what color sock to buy.

Equipment: Your Jr/Sr player will need a baseball glove/mitt and baseball cleats. Personal bats are optional, but must meet little league specifications (see LL rule book). Athletic supporters and cups are required. Personal helmets are encouraged.

Opening Day: SCLL will celebrate our opening day in March. See the Salmon Creek web page for times and details. your coach will notify you of official picture schedule. If in doubt, players should show up in uniform. Your coach will have additional information.

Volunteers: Our league is only as good as our volunteers and we always need more! Please consider coaching, being a team parent, scorekeeping games, doing field maintenance or helping with the annual auction. Please contact one of the people listed below if you are interested.
