Salmon Creek Little League

T-Ball Baseball Division Info - League Age 5 & 6

T-Ball Division (Age 5 & 6)

Division: League age 5- & 6-year-olds play in our T-Ball Division. If the player has not reached their 5th birthday prior to Opening Day which is March 14 for the 2020 season, a parent needs to volunteer to help with the team. League age 6-year-olds that have played one year of T-Ball may play in the single A division, pending approval by the safety committee. Please see the age chart on our webpage to determine your player's league age as the league age is often different than your player's actual age during the season.

Try-outs: There are no try outs or safety evaluations for the T-Ball division.

Buddy Requests: Your child is welcome to request a friend or coach. Please note any special requests in the Buddy Request box on the online registration. We will do our best to accommodate requests noted at registration.

Teams: Your child will be placed on a team by mid-February. Please email the T-Ball player agent if you have not heard from a coach by late February.

Practices: Practices begin in late February. Before the games begin in mid-March. Teams may have 2 functions during the week and 1 function on Saturday.

Games: Games usually begin on Opening Day. Games are typically played on Saturdays for the first half of the season. During the second half of the season, games are played twice a week - one on a weekday and one on Saturday. Games generally last about 1 hour with many teams arriving 30-minutes prior to warm up.

Uniform: The League provides a hat. Jerseys are to be returned to the league at the end of the season. Child should wear comfortable fitting pants to the games. Shorts are not allowed. Coaches will communicate uniform belt and sock colors after practices begin.

Equipment: Your T-ball player will need a baseball glove/mitt. A used glove that is still in good condition tends to be easier for a beginner to use. Baseball cleats are optional. Game will be played on both turf and grass.

Opening Day: SCLL will celebrate our opening day in March. See the Salmon Creek web page for times and details. Players should show up in uniform and be ready to play. Team and individual pictures are usually taken on opening day. All players, even those not purchasing photos, are asked to participate in the team photo.

Volunteers: Our league is only as good as our volunteers and we always need more! Please consider coaching, being a team parent, or helping in any way you can. Please contact one of the people listed below if you are interested.
